Purple Mountain Majesty

The rains cleared on this wedding day just long enough for us to get the florals on this gorgeous structure and for the ceremony, but then stormed again during the reception at the Couloir. I have to say though that rainy and stormy wedding days make for some of the most dramatic photos.  I love the sky in the picture below. This couple was so sweet and had been together since junior high, quite the love story!  They wanted a "nerdy" influence to the decor, so we had stacks of books, bell jars, etc in the centerpieces on the tables and overall decor.  I loved how it all came together in the end.

Love in New York City

My dear darling friend was married in New York City and requested raspberry and coral.  She is purely joy and I knew she would need something as beautiful and lovely as she is.  We flew in on the red eye and ran to the flower market to pick up the flowers.  We made it just in time to deliver the flowers and still be a guest at the wedding.  There is nothing like the hustle of the city, but always an added element of excitement to be rushing with the bridal bouquet through the streets. We love you Katie & Devin, one of the sweetest couples of all time, and wish you only love and happiness.

Parisian Inspired Four Seasons Wedding in Dallas

I loved working with this sweet family on their daughter's wedding.  From the first time we sat down together, I knew this wedding would be gorgeous.  Their inspiration photo was so lovely and it was golden from that moment on. The bride and groom were honeymooning in Paris, so they wanted a touch of Parisian influence in their decor. They had debated between having the celebration in the family's lush and green backyard or at the Four Seasons.  By the time the party started, it was pouring rain outside but the ballroom was beautiful and dry.  A win for all!

Moroccan Party

When I was first approached about this party, I immediately envisioned what everything would look like. After meeting with the client, I was even more excited for the day of the party. Sometimes I just can't WAIT for the day to get here and this was no exception. Being in the moment is my favorite part of the process because I finally get the chance to create all the beautiful details that have been so carefully prepared.

For me, the entry is one of the most important places at the event. It is the first thing the guests see when they have arrived and it sets the mood for the entire event. The foyer in this gorgeous home was the perfect setting for an oversized lantern with an incredible collection of some of my favorite spring flowers. When you are working with such amazing product it is really hard to go wrong: Coral peonies, Sara Bernhart Peonies, local Poppies, Gloriosa lilies, Japanese Sweet Pea, Mimosa and Roses of many varieties.

Gloriosa Lilies and tumbling Jasmine vine added drama on a table full of goodies
for guests to snack on, right outside then tent.

Carefully constructed garlands of Carnation petals were hung in this archway in an ombre affect, welcoming guests into the party space.

The tent was transformed into a Moroccan paradise, complete with authentic rugs, low tables with custom silk pillows for guests dining.

The floral decor was bright and colorful with elements like Kumquats, Fiddlehead ferns, and Mimosa added for unexpected texture and color. Lanterns and Moroccan tea glasses resting in a bed of rose petals made the look even more authentic.

The tent was draped in a beautiful sheer fabric with a little bit of sparkle to it. The colors were layered in an ombre affect, a returning theme of the evening. The chandeliers gave the perfect finishing touch to the entire event.

I hope the guests had as much fun at the party as I did in designing it. I was lucky enough to have my sweet husband as my helper for the day. I am very blessed to have such a great partner who is always willing to help me and keeps me laughing while we work.

Springtime Peonies

Blushy ruffled peonies are one of the best parts of springtime.
This bouquet is the perfect feminine display of peonies and ranunculus.

Happy Fall Y'all

It's finally starting to feel like fall around here and I couldn't be happier. There is just something magical about fall that makes everything more lovely; leaves changing colors, weather cooling down, holidays approaching. I am loving all of the fall flowers and foliages this year but can't wait to be able to REALLY wear fall clothes. Boots and tights and scarves are ready to be worn any day now. Until then, I will just look at my pretty pumpkins and dream.

What do you love most about fall?

March 12, 2011 ~ Sneak Peak

The happiest day of our lives. Can't wait to share the rest of the images from Cami Dunn, our amazing photog, who we adore! (Polaroid taken by Jessica V.)

Rose Fever

I am dying over this eight page spread in this month's Brides Magazine; I mean, how gorgeous are these roses??? Have you ever seen a chandelier made of roses like this? I am literally blown away. The incredibly talented Elisabetta Urioni, one of my dear friends, created these unique arrangements with product from Harvest Wholesale. I love the guys at Harvest, they are the BEST!

How great is this handmade composite Glamelia? It is a rose that is "made" from the petals of several roses. I love the ombre affect and all the texture in this. Elisabetta has magic hands to be able to create something so gorgeous!

Better than a boutonniere, look at those roses spilling out of his pocket!

Deep in the Heart

I've made the big move from NYC back to Texas and am thrilled to have a recent wedding featured in Style Me Pretty today! What an honor. Amy was such a dream bride to work with and had a very clear vision on what she wanted for her day. I love all the organic and natural elements; gorgeous garden roses, sweet succulents, burlap table runners, vintage milk glass and Mason jars, and baby pumpkins. All come together for a perfect fall backyard wedding with a twist. Amy's fun and homemade details really made her wedding so special. Kate Osborne did an amazing job on all the photography; I really love her work.
